General conditions for obtaining the Reader Card

The BNP Reader Card can be requested by any citizen, national or foreign, over 18 years.
 
When requesting the Reader Card, the user undertakes to:
 
  • Provide accurate and truthful information;
  • Request to update the information provided, whenever they undergo changes;
  • Take full responsibility for the movements made with the Reader Card;
  • Respect the conditions and rules for the use of BNP's collections and services, as defined in the General Access Regulations.

    To start your membership as a reader, fill out the Pre-registration form and then go to the Reference Area counter, to obtain your card, presenting an identification document - Citizen card, passport or other identification document with a photograph.
     
     
     
    The National Library of Portugal guarantees the privacy of any elements of personal information that users provide through this service. The data will be used exclusively for the management of operations with the Library Catalog and for statistical purposes, and will not be transmitted to other persons or organizations. The user is guaranteed the right to access, change and eliminate his/her personal data, through online mechanisms or by contacting privacidade@bnportugal.gov.pt.
